Our Center is located inside the Church of the Transfiguration in Palos Park. Palos Park is a lovely, wooded area that allows us a wonderful location within walking distance of a pond, the Plush Horse, and nicely landscaped grounds to use in addition to our spacious playground.
Our classrooms are large, child-friendly, and geared to children’s developmental levels. Children need space to explore, gather in groups and grow by spending time in dramatic play, gross motor, sensory stations, art, math, and science areas. We have places your child can spend time by themselves thinking, be with a friend or two, or working on a group project. We follow all Department of Children and Family Services guidelines for space, activities, and facility arrangement.
Our playground is wonderful. We have two sides, and both are geared to developmental levels. Climbing, riding, swinging, sliding, playing in sandboxes, learning to garden, and socializing with friends….all the things children should do. These allow children to work together to create fun. The playground has equal parts of shade and sun, mulch, and blacktop. We really enjoy our raised garden plots we use in the summer.
Leach Hall is the gathering spot for our annual Art Show, our special event performers, and our Family Dance. It is a large multipurpose room that we are able to utilize when the weather just isn't up to par to get outdoors. A parachute, bowling pins and balls, and games are available for these days inside. In addition, we do our music and movement specials and economic specials in this room; and our
pre-k and school-age classrooms enjoy their snacks and meals in this room.
We provide snacks and lunches for those enrolled, and our kitchen and cook make it happen. Stainless steel and granite keep it safely clean, and all are up to code with the Department of Family and Children Services.
